“These three Dharma’s, giving and so forth are especially praised by the Sugatas for lay people”
The practice of meditation is very extensive and is includes more than just the times we are sat quietly with our eyes closed. This series of classes will focus on three meditative practices that are particularly suitable to be integrated into the everyday life of a lay person. By learning to practice “meditation in action” we can transform our ordinary life into an enriching meditative path of improving our self and benefitting others.
FINDING STILLNESS WITHIN
Wed 8th June – Discovering the Peace of our own mind Wed 15th June – Developing concentration
“This way of training in Mahamudra is very special. Its temporary purpose is to make our mind progressively more subtle and therefore more peaceful; and to reduce our delusions such as anger and attachment so that we can solve many of our daily problems. However, the ultimate aim of this training is eventually to realize directly our very subtle mind and thus attain enlightenment quickly”
~ Mahamudra Tantra, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
During this series of classes we will learn several meditations, derived from the Mahamudra tradition, that form the very heart of Kadampa Buddhism. By training in these profound yogic practices we shall experience a subtler and more peaceful level of mind, have the wisdom to solve many of our daily problems and eventually realize our full potential.
