Meditation is becoming increasingly recognized as an effective means to reduce stress and improve our quality of life, however it also has much deeper and far-reaching benefits that have been understood by Buddhist practitioners for thousands of years. During these classes be guided through several meditations that can be reproduced at home, learn how to improve mindfulness and concentration; as well as how to set up a regular meditation practice.
Each class consists of a guided breathing meditation, a talk on how to practically apply Buddha’s teachings to our daily life and a concluding meditation based on the topic discussed.
Classes are run on a drop-in basis, there is no need to book, everyone is welcome.
Teacher: Jean has been practising Kadampa Buddhism for over 20 years and brings a depth of practical experience to her teachings. Jean is a student on the Special Teacher Training Programme and teaches the daytime classes in both Aberdeen and Inverurie. She is appreciated for her humility and her sincere wish to share with others the benefit she herself has received from Buddhist teachings.
