What Happens when we Die? (Edinburgh)

March 12, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

The only thing certain in life is death. Although we may not be happy to hear about our death, contemplating and meditating on death is very important both for our present happiness in this life and in giving us the energy to prepare for our future lives. Such meditation is said to be the key that opens up the door to the spiritual path.

During this in-depth course, Gomchen will give a clear and detailed explanation of Buddha’s teachings on death, the bardo (or intermediate state) and rebirth and how we can use this understanding to prepare effectively for our death, protect ourself from suffering and ensure our future happiness.

The instructions will be based on the very blessed text called “Bardo Tangdrol,” extracted from the Kadam Emanation Scripture by the first Panchen Lama, and the commentary to these by the contemporary Buddhist master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
