Like a mirage that appears to be water but is not in fact water, things appear in a deceptive way. As a result of this we develop mistaken views and negative minds which destroy our peace of mind. We are like travellers in a desert who exhaust themselves running after mirages or like someone walking down a road at night mistaking the shadows of the trees for criminals or wild animals waiting to attack.
This course will help us to develop a correct understanding of the true causes of happiness and suffering. It will include simple meditations we can practice at home to increase our peace of mind.
