About the event:Kadam-Bridget-Heyes-Slider

The Scottish Dharma Celebration is a very special annual weekend event dedicated to world peace, which is open to everyone.  The weekend draws students from across Scotland and includes inspiring teachings, profound meditations, and time to rest and reflect with like-minded individuals.

This year’s Celebration theme focuses on creating the underlying causes necessary for a long life, increased wisdom, and good fortune (or good karma) through receiving the blessing empowerment of Buddha Amitayus.

An empowerment includes a series of beautiful guided meditations that help heal our mind, awaken our pure potential, and create a lasting connection with an enlightened Buddha.  Through receiving the empowerment of Buddha Amitayus and practicing the meditations and teachings given during the weekend, we can develop the essential qualities necessary to lead a happy, meaningful life and to help others.  Ultimately we can swiftly complete the spiritual path that leads to full Enlightenment.

About the speaker:
This weekend will be led principally by international meditation teacher, Kadam Bridget Heyes, the UK National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition and Resident Teacher of Nagarjuna Buddhist Centre in Northamptonshire.  Kadam Bridget is a senior student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and is known for her powerful teachings, compassionate heart, and deep understanding of Buddha’s wisdom advice.  Her teachings are exceptionally clear and she presents profound ideas in a way that are easy to practice and integrate into daily life.  As a mother of two, she has a special insight into how to bring Buddhism alive to meet the demands of a busy modern life. Kadam Bridget shows an inspiring example for everyone on the spiritual path.
