We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with this fact. Buddha gave extensive teachings on the death process, and on how to use an awareness of our death to live a more full and meaningful life.

In Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully, Geshe Kelsang explains the importance of contemplating and planning for our own death. If we do so, “when death actually comes we shall feel like a child returning to the home of its parents, and pass away joyfully, without fear.”

Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang is a senior Kadampa Buddhist nun with more than 25 years experience. She is also the National Spiritual Director of Italy, Austria and Switzerland and teaches at National Festivals. She demonstrates an extraordinary and inspirational example of a modern-day Kadampa practitioner.
Her teachings are powerful and clear.
