Drop-in meditation classes in Edinburgh

There will be no classes during week 27-31 May because of International Spring Festival that’s being organised in Lake District. The programme of classes resume on Saturday 1 June with a course on ‘Karma’

The drop-in classes (General Program classes) consist of talks and guided meditations suitable for everyone. The emphasis is on integrating Buddha’s teachings into our lives. Beginners are welcome.

Although taught as a series, each class is self-contained.

If you are attending more than one class per week, consider our membership option at only £34.95/ month.

Class Format

Breathing meditation

Classes start with a 15-minute breathing meditation, which is guided by the teacher – designed to settle the mind and let go of distractions, in order to get the most out of the session.

Talk on the topic

The middle of the class consists of practical teachings on how to begin and make progress in meditation. Each week is self-contained but the topics covered will vary each week exploring a variety of meditations that can be reproduced at home.

Concluding meditation

The final meditation will last around 10-15 minutes and vary depending on the focus for the week. This will help us to improve our practical experience of meditation and enable us to carry the insights we gain into our daily life.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
