Janice is a modern Kadampa Buddhist who has been practising for a number of years. She works in the vibrant Scottish cultural sector, and her teaching provides a wealth of practical examples of how Buddhist teachings can inspire us to transform our lives.

Jealousy is the source of much anger, discontent and disharmony. It feels like a thorn in our heart. When we are jealous our mind becomes narrow and obsessive, making it difficult for us to think of anything else or to see the situation from the other person’s point of view. Jealousy is entirely futile because neither does it cause the other person’s fortune or good qualities to decline, nor does it increase our own; all it does is to rob us of our own peace and happiness.

Discover our unique ability to choose which thoughts to follow, in turn changing our feelings, our actions and our entire reality. By training in meditation we will be able to eradicate from our mind the causes of our jealousy and find genuine mental peace.

Gen-la Thubten has been a disciple of Venerable Geshe-la for over 40 years. He is renowned for his ability to present the many deep meanings contained within Venerable Geshe-la’s books and show how to integrate them into daily life.

In order to progress in the training and control of our mind it is necessary to have confidence in ourselves, also to recognize and improve our good qualities. However, sometimes we confuse this self-confidence with the selfish mind of self-esteem that drives us to act in inappropriate ways, for example, by committing harmful actions against others.

Attend this course and learn the methods to trust you correctly and develop all your inner potential.
